It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. E.E Cummings

Do you have problems in your life? Who does not?

You lost your job. Who is responsible? Your relationship broke down. Surely, someone manipulated your partner. You are not taking the blame for it. Who does? There was not even one subject in school where we learned how to take responsibility for our actions.

So where are these secrets buried?

The answer is simple.

The key to dealing with the problems we face in life is the attitude we take toward them. Often, our approach to life’s difficulties is avoidance. Rather than confronting the deeper fears of our life. We often attempt to mask or evade them. Our constant search for momentary pleasures is one of our strategies for hiding from our inner conflicts.

It’s so much easier. So we like to think to keep ourselves amused or intoxicated. Ironically, the very motivation of the strategy, the desire to escape suffering, drives us right into it. So, only the complete acceptance of suffering leads to its end which is to accept suffering, rather than flee from it.
